Are you exporting goods from Australia that you have paid import duty on?
Did you know the Australian Border Force (ABF) allows exporters to claim a refund for customs duty paid on imported goods that are subsequently exported from Australia?
It’s called the Duty Drawback Scheme and to be eligible you need to have evidence that you paid duty on your goods in Australia, that they were not used in Australia and that they were exported. You could also be eligible if your imported goods are processed and/or incorporated into other goods and then exported.
Make sure to hold onto to your documentation, because you can make a claim up to 4 years from the date of export for most goods eligible under the scheme. The minimum amount per claim is 100AUD or you can combine claims to meet the minimum amount.
